Lord Aeck Sargent collaborated with Morehouse School of Medicine to redefine key outdoor spaces across its campus, focusing on creating a unified, pedestrian-friendly environment. Notable projects include the Hank Aaron Plaza, centered around a statue of Hank Aaron outside the Billye Suber Aaron Pavilion, a design that integrates both building and landscape. Additionally, an underutilized parking area was transformed into a versatile greenspace, which now serves as a central social hub with a structured tree allée, water feature, and a sizable plaza designed to host events. A formerly unwelcoming pedestrian corridor adjacent to a parking deck was also revamped to improve accessibility and incorporate sustainable design features, such as a rain garden stormwater system, greenscreens, and shaded seating areas. These projects collectively contribute to a cohesive landscape, enhancing the campus’s sense of place and usability through carefully curated green infrastructure and sustainable landscape architecture.
