Lord Aeck Sargent helped renovate and transform 157,000 square feet of an existing 300,000-square-foot shell building into a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for medmix in Oakwood, Georgia. This cutting-edge facility, which includes ISO8 clean rooms, high bay spaces with multiple overhead cranes, 48 injection molding machines, and advanced safety and material handling features, supports medmix’s specialized injection molding processes for medical delivery devices. Designed with sustainability in mind and targeting LEED Certification, the project also incorporates chemical labs, QC labs, cold storage, machine shops, warehousing, and office space. Additionally, the facility will serve as a training center for European personnel transitioning to automated processes. The renovation, completed using an expedited design and procurement process, sets the stage for a future phase to fit out the remaining 150,000 square feet, ensuring medmix can continue to grow and innovate in its field.

“During the process, LAS was instrumental in and served as a guide for the design process. We went from concept, material, and process flow and equipment layout to complete the design process. They are responsive, flexible, and focused. They kept a strong focus on customer service throughout the project and as they finish the package.”
