The Campbell Hall renovation at Agnes Scott College involved transforming a mid-century science building into a dynamic living/learning community that merges academic and residential spaces. The project, driven by sustainable design principles, includes a hybrid geothermal HVAC system and achieved LEED Gold certification. The building now houses classrooms, collaboration areas, learning centers, and semi-suite dormitories for 96 students, with nearly equal academic and residential use. The renovation preserves the building's original structure while integrating modern energy-saving technologies, ensuring a reduction in carbon footprint and alignment with the college's long-term sustainability goals. The project underscores a commitment to adaptive reuse, breathing new life into a historically significant campus facility while minimizing environmental impact.
