Agnes Scott College

Campbell Hall Rehabilitation

Lord Aeck Sargent led the transformation of Campbell Hall at Agnes Scott College, originally constructed in 1951 as a science building, into a dynamic living-learning environment. This project balanced historical preservation with modern innovation, retaining the building’s mid-century architectural elements while updating it to serve both academic and residential functions. The renovated space now includes classrooms, a large auditorium, faculty offices, and dedicated learning centers, alongside semi-suite residential areas for nearly 100 students. Central to the redesign was the installation of a hybrid geothermal system, supporting energy efficiency and securing LEED Gold Certification. This project is part of the college's strategic plan to modernize facilities in anticipation of future enrollment growth, integrating sustainable design with the historic fabric of the campus.
