STEM + Agriculture Sciences Complex
The STEM+Agriculture Sciences Complex is a 245,000-square-foot research and education facility designed to support interdisciplinary collaboration across scientific disciplines. The complex integrates flexible laboratory spaces for the departments of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences, Entomology and Plant Pathology, Geosciences, and Biological Sciences, allowing for shared resources and streamlined spatial efficiency. Specialty areas, including small animal and insectary facilities, computational research spaces, and environmental sample processing rooms, are strategically incorporated to enhance research capabilities. In addition to laboratory environments, the complex provides instructional labs, active-learning classrooms, and administrative offices to support the Department of Math and Statistics. The project, structured as three interconnected buildings, is designed to accommodate evolving research needs while prioritizing sustainability, with targeted LEED Silver certification. Lord Aeck Sargent is engaged in the design and planning of the facility in collaboration with Alabama-based Goodwyn Mills Cawood.
