Lord Aeck Sargent was one of two finalists in Atlanta's domestiCITY design competition, a two-phase initiative exploring innovative, replicable approaches to affordable and sustainable urban housing. Our proposal, titled 41 ECO Living, reimagined the redevelopment of the Santa Fe Villas site, a four-acre transitional housing property, along with the adjacent Town & Country Hotel Courts. The design presented a modular, mixed-use "village" concept utilizing Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) to reduce costs, support Georgia’s lumber industry, and enhance sustainability. It emphasized adaptive reuse, green infrastructure, and a focus on long-term affordability and community empowerment. Recognized for its architectural innovation, economic feasibility, and potential scalability, 41 ECO Living was showcased with the other finalist at the Museum of Design Atlanta and Atlanta City Hall as part of the competition's exhibitions.
