North Huntsville Greenway Plan

Lord Aeck Sargent, in collaboration with Alta Planning + Design, Sixpitch, and the City of Huntsville Planning Department, is leading the community-driven vision for the North Huntsville Greenway. Building on the City’s Greenway Master Plan and The BIG Picture Comprehensive Plan, the project emphasizes economic development, health and wellness, multimodal transportation, and cultural preservation. A recent public meeting at City Hall engaged residents through interactive charrettes and poster renderings, with Lord Aeck Sargent unveiling conceptual node designs inspired by the Atlanta BeltLine. Community input from this process is directly shaping a greenway that will serve not only as a mobility corridor but also as a destination for connection, culture, and recreation, reflecting the unique character of North Huntsville while providing lasting benefits for future generations.
