Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District

Tucker Downtown Grid Study

Lord Aeck Sargent was engaged to develop a comprehensive Urban Design & Planning project aimed at restoring and revitalizing the historic downtown grid system of Tucker, originally established in 1891. Our firm collaborated with the Tucker Northlake Community Improvement District (TNCID) and was supported by the Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) program of the Atlanta Regional Commission. Our work focused on place-making by reimagining and reconnecting the existing network of streets and alleys, integrating mobility frameworks, open spaces, and sustainable development strategies. Utilizing photo-realistic virtual reality renderings, Lord Aeck Sargent provided detailed framework plans and tailored design concepts for alley typologies and implementation strategies. Additionally, we contributed to the creation of a design plan for the new Town Green, facilitating enhanced walkability and community engagement within the downtown area. The project emphasizes connectivity, open space integration, and place-making to support the economic and social vibrancy of Downtown Tucker.
